State Representative Phil Garthwaite Endorses Barbara Lawton for Governor

Garthwaite Cites Lawton’s Commitment to Rural Economic Development

DICKEYVILLE –  State Representative Phil Garthwaite today announced his endorsement for Barbara Lawton for governor.

“I’m proud to offer my endorsement to Barbara Lawton for Governor of Wisconsin,” said Garthwaite.  “ She has spent a lot of time in my district and knows that Wisconsin ranges from Lake Michigan all the way to the Mississippi River - it doesn’t stop at the Madison border.  She has shown a real commitment to rural economic development and expanding broadband to those that still do not have access.  She will be a great governor.”

”I am honored to have the endorsement of State Representative Phil Garthwaite,” said Lt. Governor Lawton.  “Rep. Garthwaite enjoys the respect of his colleagues and provides a tremendous voice for his district and for the economic development of rural and small communities. I look forward to our continued work together to ensure the economic security of our all
Wisconsin’s families.”

Garthwaite was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2006 and reelected in 2008.  He is the chair of the Assembly Committee on Rural Economic Development.  Prior to serving in the legislature Garthwaite was a farm radio broadcaster and director.  Garthwaite was the fifth generation to be raised on the family farm in
Mt. Hope Township
