RACINE –  State Representative Robert Turner today announced his endorsement for Barbara Lawton for governor.

“Barbara Lawton will be an outstanding governor and I’m proud to offer her my support today,” said Rep. Turner.  “I’ve known Barbara Lawton for a long time. I know who she is and what she stands for.  Her values are in line with the working families of southeast Wisconsin.   I’m supporting her because she has the ability and vision to lead our state toward creating new jobs and a better future for our families.”

Governor Lawton.  “Bob works hard to be sure all of us in the capitol understand the challenges facing a city built long ago on a growing manufacturing sector.  And we are at work together to plot job growth for today's economy, to set Wisconsin communities everywhere on the path to recovery." 

State Representative Robert L. Turner was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1990, and has been re-elected to ten subsequent terms. Turner has served as Assembly Democratic Caucus Chair 2003-2004 and 2005-2006 Legislative sessions. The 61st Assembly District is an urban district comprised of roughly the eastern half of the City of Racine, Wisconsin (population 85,000).  Turner is the chair of the Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and also is a member of the Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs, Committee on Housing and the Committee on Judiciary and Ethics.
